BNP Paribas’ Securities Services business, a leading global custodian with USD 13.9 trillion under custody[1], today announces the appointment of Julien Kasparian as its Regional Head for the United Kingdom and Middle East. This appointment is subject to regulatory approvals.
In his new role, Julien will oversee the bank’s Securities Services business line in the region and drive its contribution to BNP Paribas’ diversified and integrated bank model, in alignment with the Group’s strategic plan — called GTS for Growth, Technology and Sustainability.
Julien brings over two decades of experience with BNP Paribas, having held a variety of senior positions within its Securities Services business, including Head of UK Sales and Relationship Management for Banks & Brokers and, most recently, Head of Hong Kong SAR for Securities Services, also coordinating client coverage across Asia Pacific. Julien played a pivotal role in expanding Securities Services’ footprint and capabilities within the region.
In the coming weeks, Julien will gradually hand over his former responsibilities as Head of Hong Kong SAR for Securities Services to Laure Ly, previously Head of Client Development, Greater China for Securities Services, BNP Paribas.
Based in the UK, Julien will report directly to Alessandro Gioffreda, Global Head of Territory Management for Securities Services, and locally to Emmanuelle Bury, BNP Paribas’ UK Country Head.
Alessandro Gioffreda, Global Head of Territory Management, Securities Services, BNP Paribas, commented on the appointment, saying: “Julien’s extensive industry expertise, strategic vision, and deep understanding of client needs make him the ideal leader to drive growth in the UK and Middle East regions. We look forward to the contributions he will bring, as we continue to enhance our services and expand our global footprint.”
