Strong results in Hedge Fund Admin & Prime Brokerage Surveys

BNP Paribas achieved solid results in Global Custodian’s 2021 Hedge Fund Administration and Prime Brokerage Surveys.

The Global Custodian surveys provide an annual barometer of service across the fund administration and prime brokerage segments.

The two results reflect a strategic commitment by BNP Paribas to offer clients a comprehensive solution spanning prime brokerage, clearing, execution, administration and custody, bolstered in recent years by the integration of Deutsche Bank’s Global Prime Finance and Electronic Equities business.

Hedge Fund Administration

For Hedge Fund Administration, the bank has achieved outperformance status globally and in 11 out of the 13 categories. Strong gains were recorded overall from 2020, particularly in the core areas of fund accounting (ranked second overall), middle office services, as well as investor and tax reporting. BNP Paribas also ranked third for onboarding out of the 11 total scored providers.

Diarmuid Ryan, Global Head of Hedge Fund & Liquid Alternative Services at BNP Paribas Securities Services, said:

“This survey provides an invaluable window into our clients’ perception of our service, and it is pleasing to see such strong results.

As we continue to invest into our alternatives platform, we must uphold our high standards around the client experience, while also demonstrating our unique value as an integrated bank with one of the broadest solution sets available in the market.

As always, I would like to thank our clients for taking the time to provide their insights.”

“We have had no issues with the MO in the time we have had them, which allows us to focus on running the portfolio.”

Prime Brokerage

With the integration of Deutsche Bank’s Global Prime Finance and Electronic Equities platform due to complete by the end of 2021, BNP Paribas has successfully moved up its global ranking in the prime brokerage space.

This year, the bank’s scores exceeded the average of its peers in a majority of the areas (10 out of 13 categories), with Foreign Exchange Prime Brokerage leading the way as its highest scoring category, followed by OTC Clearing, Delta 1, Swaps and Financing. BNP Paribas’ overall average score (6.07) also outperformed the overall average among all the participating firms (5.88).

I’d like to thank all the clients who voted BNP Paribas as their preferred prime brokerage provider. The continued support and positive feedback from the clients are greatly valued by our teams within Global Markets, as we continue to enhance our top-quality services and product offerings to better serve their needs.
