BNP Paribas’ Securities Services business, a leading global custodian with USD 16.7 trillion in assets under custody[1], today announces a long-term strategic mandate with Janus Henderson Group plc (“Janus Henderson”) to provide a wide range of fund and market & financing services across the United Kingdom, France, Luxembourg, and Australia.
Building on its strong Securities Services relationship, BNP Paribas now expands its partnership with Janus Henderson by leveraging the bank’s diversified capabilities, including those of its Global Markets business, to support Janus Henderson’s strategic ambitions.
Janus Henderson, a global asset manager with USD 493 billion in assets under management, specialises in active investments across equities, fixed income, multi-asset and alternatives. As part of its growth strategy, Janus Henderson is committed to continuously optimise its operations. Following a competitive tendering process, BNP Paribas has been appointed by Janus Henderson for its capacity to help enhance operational efficiencies across regions, and notably, to support Janus Henderson’s front-to-back target operating model transformation.
Through the new mandate, Securities Services at BNP Paribas offers fund accounting for Janus Henderson’s open-ended funds and investment trusts in Europe and Asia-Pacific, alongside depositary, custody, cash, and FX services. Janus Henderson also benefits from BNP Paribas’ integrated bank model through the selected services provided by the bank’s Global Markets business.
BNP Paribas and Janus Henderson have a long-standing partnership spanning over two decades, with Securities Services supporting Janus Henderson’s various fund launches, system changes, and targeted integration acquisitions globally. The latest mandate further underlines the bank’s cross-regional expertise and integrated offering, reinforcing this broad-based collaboration between BNP Paribas and Janus Henderson.
Panos Nikopolitidis, Deputy Chief Operating Officer, Janus Henderson Investors, commented: “BNP Paribas has been a trusted partner to Janus Henderson for more than two decades, and this renewed mandate reflects both the strength of that relationship and our shared ambition for the future. As we continue to evolve our global operating model, it is important that we work with partners who can support us across regions with scale, resilience, and deep market expertise. We look forward to building on our long-standing collaboration with BNP Paribas as we execute our strategic priorities and continue to serve our clients globally.”
Arnaud Claudon, Head of Asset Managers and Asset Owners Client Lines, Securities Services, BNP Paribas, stated: “We are delighted to expand our trusted partnership with Janus Henderson, a valued client since 2002, by providing a comprehensive suite of services across multiple locations. Harnessing the expertise of our Securities Services and Global Markets businesses, we are able to offer Janus Henderson a unique and integrated solution that goes beyond asset servicing, driving their business forward and supporting their ambitious plans. This mandate is a testament to the strength of our client relationships, as well as our ability to deliver service excellence globally and meet their evolving needs.”
